Hi! I’m Natasha and welcome to my personal blog, quirky affairs - where I document and capture the little quirks in my daily affairs that make it  memorable.

I’m not the kind of quirky where I wear thick rimmed glasses (only when I’m home), vintage clothes and socks with toes.

But I am the sort that loves stripes & dots in all wearable hues so much that I get made fun of by most people of how they can always guess that I’d be in a “stripes” the next time they meet me. (I guess it still beats being stuck in a “tablecloth phase”, or so the husband calls it whenever I used to wear all sorts of checkers during our dates)

I’m also a bit of a hopeless romantic, wanderlust, optimist, workaholic & closet perfectionist freak and pop/rock music junkie. And (macadamia nut)Ice cream, delicious food, good cakes and fabulous company always get my knees weak.

I’ve always enjoyed documenting bits of my life since I was a little girl; but soon got lazy with writing as I entered adulthood. I toyed with the idea of (transitioning from writing to) blogging in 2003/04, but never really got round to it till Christmas day in 2005.

My initial blog was available to a selected circle and consisted mainly of dramas & emotions of the hour, with afterthoughts in between when I started my first job.

But as life progressed & significant events unfold over the next few years, I wanted to capture my new experiences, interests, personal milestones & much much more openly on the blog. It also served as a great way of updating those that were important to me and wanted the scoop on what I was up to.

In early 2011, I made a decision to quit an amazing career in the media industry in an attempt to start a family with the Bo. Part of this blog became my ranting ground for fertility-related grouses (who would have thought producing an offspring would be that difficult?), but through that experience I was introduced to a community of like-minded, wonderful ladies who made me feel a lot less alone with my (in)fertility journey with their larger-than-life personalities.

In Jul 2011, the Bo & I finally got our first BFP (read about it here). It was a dream come true and we were beyond excitement to be first-time parents. I started documenting more about our adventures of pregnancy and preparing for parenthood.

In Mar 2012, we say “HOLA!” to our first addition whom we affectionately call “chungkin”. We were blessed with a very smooth & happy delivery that lasted under 6 hours, and seeing our newborn in our arms brought much joyful tears and thankfulness.

We are very, very excited to embark and document our new adventures of parenthood & beyond!

I tend to blog on topics entirely based on my mood for the moment/day.
