my ah-mazing weekend

It may only be mid-weekend, but so far it’s been fantastic and nothing short of ah-mazing…

some time back, one of the yummy mommies had a rad idea of organizing a group photo-cum-family day out. And while I wasn’t feeling exactly top form about being in front of the camera with the additional postpartum weight that doesn’t seem to be going away (turns out I wasn’t alone in my sentiments), the highlight was of course being able to see the gals & bubs again, hang out for some root beer float and just have a jolly good time!

I can’t wait to see the how the photos turned out.

p/s: photos above were taken via mobile phone camera.

playdate #5

The north easterners (mommies) decided to have a meet-up of their own, following suit after seeing how North & East zone moms were arranging lunch meet-ups on our exclusive Facebook Page. It was fun to finally put the faces to more names :)

We had some delish Japanese at Sushi Teh Nex followed by our usual round of gong cha (supposed to increase milk supply too :p) and then the usual suspects decided to pop by my place to hang out over pumping milk, photo boothing & tutu kuehs.

playdate #4

Sorry for the lack of regular updates! These days it seems like Liam’s playdates are happening so frequently that I’ve hardly time to update the blog because the moment we’re done with our PD, settling Liam for his bedtime takes 30 minutes and then it’s catching a much needed breather from the hectic but very fun day.

So this playdate #4 was a gathering of mommies who stay in the eastern part of Singapore. And as always, we invited lots of attention & questions from the patrons and passer-bys. Later on, my close-knit group of mommas came by to our home for a ‘pit stop’ (diaper change/feed/pump milk) for the first time and it was lovely having them over :)

Also managed to capture a video of Liam sleeping through the crying of the other bubs.

Me thinks he’s inherited his daddy chungkin’s trait of being able to sleep regardless the environment & ambience.

playdate #3

The mommas decided to have some shopping fun so this play date we had a meal at Bakerzinn before hitting the ELC (50% storewide) sale!

We were practically buying every other thing we laid our eyes on and thank goodness for mama-friends, I could take care of cranky lil’ Liam outside the store along with all their other barang barang (prams, bags, babies etc.) while they helped me grab a few steals!

It was also on this playdate that I discovered how much Liam enjoyed being out. He was practically tracking everyone that came within his line of sight, too happily occupied to even finish his milk or take a nap! Even the changing room at Paragon fascinated him – I had such a breeze diaper changing him as he was too busy noticing the mirror and lights. At one point he even wailed almost abusively-like because he wanted to be carried ALL THE TIME to get a better view of the world than be stuck sitting in the pram and facing the ceiling lights. This fella is starting to know what he wants aye!

As always, it was total fun for mom & bub. I was utterly exhausted when we got back, dreading to do the much needed bath, wind down & milk time for the little one as I stole glances at the very inviting bed. And Liam, he was knackered that getting him to sleep by his bedtime was a walk in the park :)

Liam’s 2nd playdate…& counting

Liam had his 2nd playdate within the week. Adventurous (for the 1st time mama), much?

Though frankly, it was made easier with the car ride offer from mommy Annie, later having mommy Ashley for company as well (there’s just something comforting about having more mommies with you at any one time during an outing) and not needing to lug along the pram. Having a baby carrier rocks!

We went to “mysterious” mommy Su’s place for the play date (“mysterious” as she’s known because no one knows how she looks like as her Facebook account was created solely for SMH Apr moms) and it was lots of fun - finally putting a face to that name and cheerful personality whose been so kind in helping us get land good baby deals since preggy days and whom we’ve been having all day-and-night long whatsapp chats with – trying to feast on our KFC & delicious pastries from PAUL’s (courtesy of Annie) while soothing our little ones in our arms, placing a home delivery order for KOI bubble tea, rounding up the kiddos for as many group photos as we could manage, expressing milk together in the living room, chitchatting about our mommy hood adventures etc that the hours just flew by without us realizing…

Thankfully little man did good in his routine, taking his scheduled naps and staying awake for the times I needed him to (even during the taxi ride home…well done!) albeit being a little grouch towards the end.  I may have misused the pacifier a wee bit much too (oops), wanting to err on the side of caution to prevent a repeat of his mini meltdown after our 1st play date last week…

Suffice to say, yesterday both of us came home happy, exhausted but not overtired (at least for him, phew!) and we survived another play date!!!

p/s: I may have overreacted during our drive there when all of us sniffed a little smelly fluffed and immediately assumed it was Liam. Paranoid that he may poo on me again, I even attempted to change him in the car at the petrol kiosk…only to take a little peek and realized that it was just pee. :p
