Never been a fan of Fendi, except when I spotted a beautiful Fendi Silvana on fashiontoast today, I just had to click away to find how much it would cost.
This was what I got:
“Sold out due to popular demand”
I can’t stop starring at the red. And Rumi’s doing such a perfect job making it look like an ad itself.
Bo & I went to shop for a tiny accessory for our entertainment room today but ended up ogling at gorgeous furniture at Dempsey instead. -_-
Discipline, when it comes to furniture shopping, we have not.
And since extra finances to spend, we have not as well…we met up with Alv for a cuppa at Gardens and chatted mainly about ‘ideal home plans for the next 5 years’ instead.
The husband had some wild ideas swimming in his head though. I was laughing too much to take him seriously too.
So here’s sharing what’s currently fueling my home/decor lust instead (if I can’t have my own home with my hubs, I might as well learn to make the best out of my current one before hubby’s crazy ideas steam in).
Clean, spacious bedrooms. Note to self: clear my clutter. Lots of it.
its a b**th to be cleaning glass, but ideally the husband & I would like to live in a house like that some day
ideas & ways how I can stack my piles of magazines and not having to throw them away
Don’t think I can ever work with such a tiny space for my study but its good to at least try keeping it neat…
I was just doing my usual daily must-read at Style Scrapbook (congrats Andy for winning Mango Loves Fashion Bloggers!) when I noticed her ‘Look Of The Day’ post yesterday featuring a lovely pair of YSL Electric Blue Pumps and a Varsity Jacket.
I loved the look on her – simple & chic and wondered why I haven’t been diligent enough to put on proper pants & pretty shoes instead of hobbling around in my denim shorts and more shorts just because I’ve been on a break and everyone else on the streets seem to be wearing their threads in similar fashion anyway…
The only reason I could conclude was the horrible humidity in Singapore – seriously the only places where you can throw on a blazer and nice jeans without perspiring like a pig are the malls, not considering that journeys to the mall often risk walking in the sun or in non-air conditioned environments.
So today when I’m getting ready to meet mom for some afternoon tea & window shopping in town, I’m going to make an effort to put on something more stylish instead of comfy shorts & tees (no matter how nice, pretty, comfy or branded they may be). And perhaps consider getting lighter wearable material so I wouldn’t be perspiring while making my way to my destination.
In addition, the couple have also asked McVitie’s Cake Company to create a chocolate biscuit cake for the reception at Buckingham Palace. The chocolate biscuit cake will be made from a Royal Family recipe and was specially requested by Prince William.
Just looking at these photos really makes me want to wring the necks of those in charged of the upcoming Singapore (1st) H&M store…get the store open quickly! Pronto!
As you can tell, I’m absolutely lusting after the red jacket to mix up my sea of black/grey wardrobe and lots and lots and lots of pink! Dusty pink.
I promise myself that I’d wear some pink to at least one of the many impending dinners.
To end on a somewhat relevant note of all things beautiful, how gorgeous is this model – Daria Werbowy.
Right now I’m learning how to master a somewhat similar make-up technique and that sun-kissed hair, I want it (hopefully I’d be able to dye it soon bcuz I’m getting sick of looking 1/2 blonde here).
For the longest time, I stopped shopping at Mango (although I used to shop there a lot during my late teens) because the designs were lacking. A quick check around with my social circle proved that I wasn’t alone in this. Everyone was going to Topshop, Zara, Blogshops to get their high street fashion look instead.
So 2 months ago I noticed Mango’s window (at Ion) displaying some lovely pieces, I decided to walk in for a shot, and ended up getting 2 items. Received compliments on some of the pieces I wore to the workplace hence I spread the word that Mango was back on its game. I loved that they launched other campaign activities such as ‘Keep the beat’ and roped in influential fashion bloggers to showcase their new collection as well.
Here’s sharing this video of Isabeli Fontana x Mango, which exudes a very cheeky vibe and is somewhat refreshing.
“35-year-old Liu Bolin, from Shandong, China, manages to camouflage himself in any surroundings, no matter how difficult they might be.
Liu works on a single photo for up to 10 hours at a time, to make sure he gets it just right, but he achieves the right effect: sometimes passers-by don’t even realize he is there until he moves.”
No photoshop is done to the photos.
Now…ain’t that a true master of talent?

I’ve never truly madly deeply ‘idolized’ anyone before because I’ve always thought it was ridiculous to do so to another fellow human being.
And well, Sunday School always taught me that we shouldn’t be ‘worshipping’ anyone else apart from God, if we made that choice to be in him.
That was when I was in my tweens then of course, not understanding the concept of admiration, looking up to, a role model. Which did not necessarily mean that I idolize/worship anyone in any particular way.
So 16 years on, after hitting the quarter-life crisis mark, I’ve grown to realize that in order to expand my creativity cap and fuel my motivation to improve on my photography & personal style, I needed to seek inspiration of all sorts from all sorts.
And that’s when I chanced on knowing who Bill Cunningham was. He strike me some sort of a Fashion Maverick. Doing the things he loved, independently with no regards for having to fit in. And though he mentioned that he was not a good photographer, was too shy and not aggressive enough (2002 – press article); I loved that he stuck to his passion through & through.
I reckon for someone to have a passion for fashion & photography and be in it for so long without having to conform to the lifestyle, to be part of it is just absolutely mind-blowing & fascinating.
And I am just waiting for it to be opened in cinemas here to watch it. (And of course if I was in the states, I would have already caught it, no?)
welcome to my personal blog; a catalog of my life unadulterated - on the things we do, places we go to, stuff that inspires, bits of my pregnancy journey & first experiences at parenthood.
